Spring is the only revolutionary whose revolution has succeeded

It's shaping up to be an exciting late-Spring and transition into Summer - gatherings, connections, re-connections, opportunities, growth, and enrichment.

As some of you know, my teaching schedule has recently expanded to include some classes at an inviting, new studio in Atwater Village, Aolani Yoga. Check my teaching schedule or the studio website, and come play!

Over the next few weeks I'm looking forward to spending time with family and starting a summer design intensive. It's going to be busy and fast-paced, but I'm so, so excited. I'm also super-geeked about an upcoming May 25th workshop with one of my favourite yoga teachers from Chicago, Wade Gotwals!
I know how important it is to practice with a teacher/teachers who inspire us and with whom we form a connection. One of my wishes in teaching is to make those connections with my students. At the same time, I'm not offended if someone just doesn't feel connected to me or doesn't feel that I'm the right teacher for their practice. That being said, I had amazing, amazing teachers in Chicago. When I moved here to Los Angeles in 2012, I was set with the not-so-small task of finding a new studio(s) and new teachers with whom to practice. As much as I enjoy my home practice, I love the energy of being in a class; I love seeing how others personalize their teaching; and I continually learn something from each teacher.
My search unfolded slowly, and I admit, I was bummed for awhile. I sorely missed my teachers in Chicago, and I often wished I had the time and funds to fly back to Chicago or that one of my teachers would hold a workshop in L.A., just so I could practice with them again. With continued exploration and perseverance, I eventually discovered some really great teachers here as well.

So now that I've contentedly settled in to teaching and to my own practice here, my wish from all those months ago has materialized (I'm sure there's a life/Universe/Law of Attraction lesson there). Wade will be teaching a workshop, and possibly some classes, at Jai Rhythm in Ventura. Wade is an amazing, knowledgeable, skilled, and giving teacher, and it is absolutely worth your while, and the drive from L.A., to take advantage of this rare opportunity to practice with him here in SoCal - he's a California-native, but he doesn't teach here often - this is the first time, since I moved here nearly two years ago.

Maybe I'll see you there, and I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon!
